Marking Milestones, Building a Community
Celebrating Hammonton Organizations with 50 Years or More of History

About the Exhibit
The Historical Society of Hammonton unveiled the Marking Milestones, Building a Community exhibition on Memorial Day 2026 to celebrate the businesses, organizations, churches, schools, and community institutions that have helped shape Hammonton across generations.
Through photographs, artifacts, memorabilia, video presentations, and interactive elements, the exhibition explores the stories of more than 100 organizations with 50 years or more of history in the community.
Various displays featuring loaned artifacts, memorabilia, photographs, and historic items generously shared by members of the community offer visitors a closer look at the people, products, services, and stories that have become familiar parts of everyday life in Hammonton.
The exhibition also ties into the nation’s 250th anniversary, using Hammonton’s local story to reflect broader themes of continuity, resilience, immigration, agriculture, business growth, and community identity.
A Story of Continuity
Hammonton’s story is shaped not only by major events and milestones, but also by the organizations that have remained part of everyday community like across generations.
Businesses, civic groups, churches, and community institutions have adapted to changing times while remaining rooted in their mission and connection to the people they serve.
As new generations, traditions, and experiences shaped the community over time, these organizations have evolved alongside Hammonton itself and have been instrumental in helping to shape the identity, traditions, and everyday life of Hammonton.
