Collections

The HSH Museum, located at 333 Vine Street, is home to our varied collection of artifacts, documents, historical records, periodicals, books, pictures, and oral history files.

Some of our goals related to collection management and historic preservation include:

  • Apply for relevant grants to support our work.
  • Apply for a complimentary artifact assessment from the NJ Association of Museums.
  • Apply for a complimentary survey and evaluation of the HSH preservation, conservation, and storage processes from the Caucus Archival Projects Evaluation Service (CAPES).
  • Preserve critical artifacts.
  • Identify, evaluate, and procure a digital museum cataloging and collection system.
  • Populate the museum collection system with the HSH inventory.
  • Conduct, record, and transcribe oral history interviews.
  • Assess the feasibility of establishing off-site display locations to increase accessibility to historical artifacts and expand our physical reach beyond the museum.
