HSH Press Release – February 20, 2016

Hammonton, NJ (February 20, 2016). The Historical Society of Hammonton invites the public to a free community program to be held Thursday March 3rd, 8:00 PM at the Canoe Club, Lake Park, Hammonton. Programs are free, provided as a service to the community. There is no requirement to be a member of HSH to attend. The program is videoed and a copy is placed in our archives so that now or future generations will be provided with a snapshot of Hammonton’s past.

Our speaker for the evening will be Dr. Enrico Dellagatta known by all in Hammonton as Rick. Born and raised here he graduated from HHS, starring in football. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania, Masters from Temple and Doctorate from Drexel, then became an assistant professor of physical therapy at Stockton, an adjunct instructor at four locations including University of Pennsylvania and Temple.

Founder of Maple Leaf Physical Therapy, 255 Messina Avenue, Rick has more than 40 years’ experience in the profession. They have been the exclusive provider of neurodevelopmental physical therapy for Elwyn-NJ (formerly The Training School at Vineland) for the past two decades.

He has presented research and lectured at the state and national levels on topics ranging from electrotherapy to exercise physiology; co-author of Electromagnetic Radiation: Laser, Ultraviolet and Diathermy in Michlovitz & Nolan (ed): Modalities for Therapeutic Intervention; holder of US Patent # 5,954,675, Method of Ultrasonic Therapy; Use of Methyl Nicotinate to Enhance the Effect of Ultrasound Treatment. During the past 5 years he has developed and implemented fall screening and balance retraining programs for medically frail, developmentally disabled individuals.

He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine, as well as World Association of Laser Therapists; a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association; past Public Relations Committee Chairperson and recipient of the Chapter’s Excellence in Clinical Teaching and Practice Award.
