HSH Press Release – January 20, 2022

Hammonton, NJ, January 20, 2022. The Historical Society of Hammonton (HSH) invites the public to a free community service program to be held 8 PM Thursday February 3rdat the Canoe Club, Lake Park, Hammonton. There is no requirement to be a member of HSH to attend.

The evening’s program features the Mento family, and the five generations that have lived at the family homestead on First Road.  Over time the family has worked and served Hammonton in many key roles. Our speaker, Sam “Salvatore” Mento 3rd has served on the Hammonton Board of Education for eleven years, 8 as president. In 2008, Sam took the challenging step of moving from the business world to becoming a successful blueberry grower. He is married to Katherine and proud parents of Sarah and Samuel 4th. Family will join him in the presentation. Come for an informative, FUN evening on February 3rd.

The Historical Society of Hammonton was established to provide a living collection highlighting the rich social, political, economic and cultural heritage of our town. Our mission is to increase awareness of history relating to Hammonton, its environs, and to establish public access to that history by collecting, conserving, interpreting and promoting that history to the widest possible audience.
