Speaker Series Presentation – Dan Bachalis, Chairman Hammonton Lake Water Quality Advisory Committee, Hammonton Lake Update and Bird Life

This month’s FREE-to-the-public Historical Society of Hammonton (HSH)’s Speaker Series will take place Thursday, October 5 at 7 PM at the Canoe Club, Hammonton Lake Park.
October’s speaker will be Mr. Dan Bachalis, chairperson of both the Hammonton Lake Water Quality Advisory Committee and the Hammonton Environmental Commission. He also serves as Secretary for the Association of NJ Environmental Commissions. He is a former Town Councilman, and chaired the Town’s Green, Veterans, Senior Citizens Advisory, and Bike & Pedestrian Committees.
The evening’s presentation will focus on issues affecting Hammonton Lake, and a virtual birdwatching tour of the many species that abound in Hammonton.
Mr. Bachalis served in the NJ Department of Human Services for 36+ years before retirement. He received his BA from Boston College, then his Masters in Sociology from Rutgers University. He and his wife Barbara (Neary) live in Hammonton, sharing four adult children and six grandchildren.
